Comments

An anonymized version of your email address (also called a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check if you use it. You can read Gravatar’s privacy policy here. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture from Gravatar will be visible to the public next to your comment.

Media

When uploading images to the website, please ensure they do not contain embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors may download and extract such data from the images.

Cookies

When you leave a comment on our site, you may choose to save your name, email address, and website in cookies for convenience, so you don’t need to re-enter this information for future comments. These cookies will remain for one year.

Upon logging in, several cookies will be set to store your login information and screen display preferences. Login cookies last for two days, while screen preference cookies last for one year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login will persist for two weeks. Logging out will remove the login cookies.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be stored, containing no personal data, only the post ID of the edited article. This cookie expires after one day.

How long we retain your data

When you leave a comment, both the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely to allow for automatic recognition and approval of any follow-up comments, bypassing the moderation queue.

For registered users, we store the personal information provided in their user profile. Users can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except for their username). Website administrators also have access to view and edit this information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you may request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you’ve provided. You can also request the deletion of any personal data we maintain. This excludes data we are required to retain for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
